Cycle & Hormone Balance

Understand your cycle and your hormones

For you who experience PMS, pain, irregular cycle, mood swings or tiredness at particular phases of the month — and who want to understand why the body reacts as it does.

What we look at

Cycle, oestrogen and genetic hormone handling

DUTCH cycle mapping measures your hormones across your cycle — not just a single snapshot. It gives us insight into whether your hormones rise and fall as they should, and whether the symptoms relate to specific phases.

DNA Hormones reveals whether you genetically break down oestrogen in a way that can increase the symptom burden — and lets us support the body precisely where it needs it.

Oestrogen and progesterone — balance and breakdown through the cycle
Cortisol — the interplay between stress and cycle symptoms
DNA Hormones — genetic factors for oestrogen metabolism
TSH, fT4, fT3 — metabolism and its effect on the cycle
Hormone profile in the follicular and luteal phase

Example from practice

“Every month before my period I felt like a different person”

Sofie, 29, experienced marked mood swings, irritability and tiredness in the 10 days before her period. Her hormones were normal according to her doctor, but she did not recognise herself in that.

DUTCH cycle mapping showed a clear picture: her progesterone in the luteal phase was low relative to oestrogen, and her cortisol rose markedly on the days she felt worst. DNA Hormones also revealed a genetic variation meaning her oestrogen was broken down in a way that increased the biological load.

We worked with support for progesterone and oestrogen metabolism, stress reduction and targeted supplements. Sofie today describes her cycle as “recognisable and manageable” — she knows what is happening and has tools to handle it.

Anonymised example from practice. Results vary individually.

When is this the right choice?

When we need to follow hormone development over time

The programme is relevant when the clinical question specifically requires us to follow hormone development over time through the cycle.

With established menopause, Hormone Basic is generally more relevant. For long-standing fertility problems, repeated pregnancy loss or ongoing fertility treatment, we recommend talking to us first.

Ordinary PMS, period pain, heavy periods or migraine around menstruation do not in themselves require Cycle Mapping. Here Hormone Basic will often be sufficient.
