Which tests do we use

More than just numbers

We use tests to understand patterns in the body. The goal is not simply to find "too high" or "too low". The goal is to understand why you have symptoms, what matters most to work on first, and how the body responds to stress, hormones, sleep and energy.

We do not necessarily use every test for everyone. Tests are chosen based on symptoms, history and need.

DUTCH test

Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones

The DUTCH test is an advanced hormone test based on urine samples. It provides detailed information about oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, cortisol and melatonin — and not least how the hormones are broken down and metabolised in the body.

  • Oestrogen and progesterone — production, balance and breakdown
  • Testosterone and DHEA — adrenal and sex hormone function
  • Cortisol rhythm — stress response and adrenal load across the day
  • Melatonin — the sleep hormone's daily rhythm
  • Metabolites — how the body metabolises and breaks down hormones

Essential Thyroid Profile

Blood-test-based metabolic assessment

An extended thyroid profile that gives a more complete picture of thyroid function than standard TSH measurements. We measure TSH, fT4, fT3, Anti-TPO and TG to understand production, conversion and any autoimmune involvement.

  • TSH — the brain's signal to the thyroid gland
  • fT4 and fT3 — the active thyroid hormones
  • Anti-TPO and TG — markers of autoimmune thyroid involvement
  • Conversion capacity — how efficiently the body converts T4 into active T3

DNA-based analyses

DNA Health, DNA Hormones and DNA Histamines

DNA-based analyses provide insight into genetic variations that can affect hormone balance, energy, inflammation and the body's ability to handle stress and strain. The purpose is to understand biological strengths and vulnerabilities — not to make diagnoses.

  • Hormones and oestrogen metabolism — how the body handles oestrogen
  • Methylation and B vitamins — central to energy, detoxification and DNA repair
  • Detoxification and liver function — the body's clearance systems
  • Inflammation and oxidative stress — the balance between load and protection
  • Histamine balance — immune response and sensitivity
  • Energy metabolism and metabolic rate — mitochondrial function and fat burning

DUTCH Cycle Mapping

Hormone measurement across the whole cycle

Where DUTCH Complete gives a snapshot, DUTCH Cycle Mapping follows your hormones throughout the cycle. It makes it possible to see how oestrogen and progesterone move — and where in the cycle the imbalance arises. Used in Cycle & Hormone Balance.

  • Oestrogen and progesterone across the whole cycle — not just one day
  • Where in the cycle the imbalance arises — and why symptoms hit certain phases
  • Progesterone production and ovulation — the link between cycle and symptoms
  • Hormone breakdown — how the body metabolises hormones through the cycle
  • Combined with DUTCH Complete for the full picture

TH1/TH2-test

Immune balance and inflammation pattern

The TH1/TH2 test examines the balance between two branches of the immune system. A skewed distribution can affect inflammation, autoimmune conditions, allergy and the body's ability to handle infections. Used when immunological patterns are considered relevant.

  • TH1 response — the immune system's cellular defence
  • TH2 response — antibody-mediated and allergic response
  • The balance between the two — skewing can drive inflammation
  • Relevance in autoimmune conditions and allergy

CSAP stool profile

Comprehensive Stool Analysis with Parasitology

A comprehensive analysis of gut flora, digestive function, inflammation and any parasites or imbalances in the gut ecosystem. The gut plays a central role in immune defence, hormone balance and energy production.

  • Composition of the gut flora — beneficial and unwanted bacteria
  • Digestive markers — elastase, fatty acid split, pH
  • Inflammation markers — calprotectin, lactoferrin, lysozyme
  • Immune function in the gut — sIgA secretory immunoglobulin A
  • Parasitology — microscopy and PCR for parasites
